Patients undergoing Bisphosphonate
Therapy are at a greater risk of developing the
serious potential problems of jaw necrosis after taking
these medications. The risks increase greatly for patients
who have been taking the oral medication over 3 years
and for those on the intravenous treatments for 5 months.

have been taking this drug so that appropriate precautions
can be taken for dental treatment. It is important to
discuss these potential problems with your physician.
It is recommended that patients on this therapy have
their physician request a serum CTX blood test to be
taken to assess your potential risk for developing oral
